Second Major in Biomedical Science

Option for students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences

College students can apply for a second major in Biomedical Science. This will result in a single degree from the College with two majors (note that this option is only for students in the College, not Engineering students). The requirements are as follows:

  • (1.0) BE 200 (Mechanics)
  • (1.0) BE 220 (Materials)
  • (1.0) BE 305 (Eng. Physiol.)
  • (1.0) BE 306 (Cell Eng.)
  • (1.0) BE 3XX/4XX/5XX
  • (1.0) BE 3XX/4XX/5XX
  • (1.0) BE 497 (Senior Thesis)
  • (1.0) BE 498 (Senior Thesis)
  • (1.0) BE 4XX/5XX
  • (1.0) BE 4XX/5XX

Total = 12 Units. Minimal Math and Science Background Required:

  • Math 104, 114, 240, 241
  • Chem 101/053, 102/054
  • Phys 140, 141
  • Biol 121, 215

To enroll, students must complete the Application for a Second Major for Non-SEAS Students.
